Filipino Bolts defeated Macau Macau in Manila 97-85. Meralco Bolts dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Macau's 40. Meralco Bolts looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Macau's players. American forward DJ Kennedy (198-1989, college: St.John's) stepped up and scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) chipped in 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American-Taiwanese power forward Will Artino (211-1992, college: Creighton) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Macau will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Bolts will try to continue on its current victory against Ryukyu in Okinawa.

Nigerian-American swingman E.J. Anosike (199-1998, college: CS Fullerton) came up with 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for SM Beermen in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
